2048 --- Flash Ryview

2048, by Gabriele Cirulli.

I want to start off with a disclaimer: This game is supposedly a clone of another game (1024) and I'm not sure where it all traces back to. I'm ryviewing the particular version I played.

2048 is a quick little puzzle game. It involves stacking like numbers (in powers of 2) to reach a tile worth 2048. Very easy to understand, very easy to hop into.

The powers of 2, hooray!

I go back and forth about how complicated I like my flash games to be, but usually I appreciate the simple, straightforward diversion games. A game like this is nothing but pure time-passing, and it's very satisfying because of it.

The version I played had a very plain webpage, but the tiles were nicely colored and the movement was pretty. I was pleased enough with the visuals that I was happy to stare at the screen and play the game start to finish without so much as a side glace away.

And, keeping my disclaimer in mind, I've played games similar in nature to this before, but I don't think I've played anything exactly like it. The concept is fairly cool, and as I already mentioned, I think it's a very simple while still being very compelling.

To get that 2048 tile, it was created from 1024 "2" tiles.

There isn't a whole lot else to say. It's a short game, I don't see a whole lot of replay value, but beating it can me moderately challenging, so that might offer a few playthroughs. All in all, I definitely recommend picking it up and spending 15 minutes of your life having mindless fun.
