Rybuttal - Negative Star Wars VII Criticisms - SPOILER ALERT

It's time for another Rybuttal. This time, it's not about a particular article or note. Rather, this is responding to criticism I've seen regarding The Force Awakens.

So I'm using this picture for the third time on this blog? You bet I am...

This will contain some hefty spoilers, so please stay away if you have not seen the movie and/or do not want to be spoiled.

You've been warned.

The Box Office Awakens - Star Wars: The Force Awakens Spoiler Riddled Ryview (And Discussion)

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, by Lucasfilm Ltd.

This is the spoiler-filled version of this ryview. It contains some pretty serious spoilers for the movie, so if you're sensitive to that sort of thing, turn back now. If you want to get back to the spoiler free ryview, click here!

A New Hope(fully Good Movie) - Star Wars: The Force Awakens Spoiler Free Ryview

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, by Lucasfilm Ltd.

This is the spoiler-free version of my ryview. It will contain minimal information about the plot and so forth to keep your virgin ears and eyes (and other other part of your part that you choose to keep chaster) free from being spoiled. That being said, some info is required if I'm reviewing the movie, so bear that in mind. Just saying...

Reactor Idle - Flash Ryview

Reactor Idle, by Baldurans.

Depending on your personality, this is either a super confusing image or a super sexy image [1]

Ah, the return of the written ryview.

It's been awhile since I did a normal written ryview of a flash game. My video to article percentage is very skewed, and especially since I'm about to go out of town, I decided to kick off the vacation with the first of what will hopefully be more than one written ryview!

So, I'm doing Reactor Idle.

The Plot of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Hi Everybody!

Disclaimer: This is fake (it should be obvious, but you know, I have to warn people so they don't freak out and/or hurl themselves off a bridge. I mean, if you're into that kind of thing, to each his own. Just don't do it because of this post. That's all I'm saying).

Where Have I Been?

I've been sick.

Picture unfortunately related... [1]

But seriously, I had a thanksgiving holiday, over which I got extremely ill (including a sore enough throat that I wanted to avoid talking).

So, now I'm finally on the mend, and my blog activities will resume.

Prepare yourselves for a flurry of content in the next few days.

You know you want to.

Until next time,

Ryan

Hi Everybody!

As part of my commentary lifestyle, I usually have a microphone plugged into my computer.

This sometimes means that Cortana hears things I say to my significant other that she thinks are intended for her.

Clicker Heroes - iOS Ryview

Clicker Heroes, by R2 Games.

Clicker Heroes is an idle game that has flash and app versions (that I'm aware of), and I've played a bit of both. However, this is a ryview of the iOS version, because I've spent a lot more time playing that one.

Let's start with the title; I'm not clicking anything on the iOS version. I'm tapping. Shouldn't the phone and/or tablet port be called "Tapper Heroes"?

Gemcraft Chapter 2: Field X05 Walkthrough

Hi Everybody!

As I describe in the video, it's been awhile since I last played Gemcraft. But I figured it was high time (and low time, leave no time behind) that I went back to it.

So, here's my walkthrough of the last plot level, Field X05.

Please excuse my frequent use of the word "Dude".

It's been awhile...

Gotham - "The Last Laugh" Discussion (Full of Spoilers...Seriously)

Gotham recently started its second season, and I just watched episode 3, titled "The Last Laugh" (I'm a week behind on Hulu, so shoot me...)

I have opinions about it.

Spoilers ahead.

Like, serious spoilers.

Although, the internet probably already spoiled some or all of it.

But still.

You've been warned.

Hands On With The Star Wars: Battlefront Beta

Star Wars: Battlefront Beta, by DICE.

I've had the pleasure of playing the Star Wars: Battlefront Beta over the course of the past few days, and I must say, it's pretty damn cool. However, there are definitely a more than a few issues that may prevent me from logging the stupidly large amount of hours that I devoted to Battlefront 2.

The Plot of Fantastic Four 2 (The Sequel to the new one, not that Silver Surfer nonsense)

Hi Everybody!

Earlier this year I published my proposed plot for Transformers 5.

While I have yet to receive my check from Michael Bay, I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring once more to describe what will happen in another inevitable sequel:

Fantastic Four 2: Fox Wants To Keep The Rights.

Ryviews, Or Lack Thereof

Hi Everybody!

I'm rather busy with work right now, so my posts will be a little scant for the next 2 weeks.

In the meantime, play some Crusaders of the Lost Idols (a great idle game (or idol game, if you're into puns)).

A Subscription Based Game Masquerading As DLC - Destiny: The Taken King

Destiny: The Taken King, by Bungie.

For those of you who aren't aware, the fairly popular life-absorber Destiny recently released a new piece of DLC called "The Taken King." It was offered for $40 if you already own all the previous content (which would have cost you the base game price plus at least $35 for both DLCs), or $60 for everything included. Pretty sweet deal to jump in.

And if you were doing that, then it would be a great, very long game with a whole lot of content. However, if you're someone who, back in the day, bought the Dark Below DLC so you could play the extra stuff and enjoy the Knights of Crota, you're screwed. Or, similarly, if you purchased The House of Wolves DLC and wanted to actually fight wolves while patrolling, you're out of luck.

The Blog is down...

Hi Everybody!

If you're able to read this, then I fixed the blog's problems. As of this writing, I'm dealing with a sudden destruction of my website (in the form of domain names and such not pointing where they should).

I still don't know the cause, but I will endeavor to find out so this kind of thing doesn't happen in the future.

Thank you for your patience.

Until next time,

Ryan

China - Pros and Cons

Hi Everybody!

It's time for my conventional "Ryview from the country I'm currently in!"

However, I'm going to change up the format a bit, so rather than a standard Ryview, I'm throwing in a pros and cons list for China. Enjoy!

Ryviews in China!

Hi Everybody!

I'm in China!

I was planning on playing some flash games and doing some written ryviews for you while I'm here, but it turns out China has some pretty serious internet restrictions (like, for example, I can't access blogger from my hotel, but I can from this other semi-random wifi spot).

As a result, I will try to keep up with something, but I may be pretty scant for the next 2 weeks.

I'll make sure to bring plenty of content with me when I return in late mid-September.

Until then, feel free to read/watch some old stuff (several times).

Until next time,

Ryan

Steven Universe: Attack The Light Ryview

Steven Universe: Attack The Light, by Cartoon Network.

For the uninitiated, Steven Universe is a quirky show about a chubby little boy who lives with 3 aliens while helping them fight other aliens and having comical misadventures. It sounds like a really weird show, and it is, but it definitely works. I love it, and I've watched every episode several times (not addicted, but pleasantly compelled).

The game, Attack The Light, is a turn based RPG companion to the series, where you play as the aliens he lives with (the "Crystal Gems"). It costs $0.99, and it's worth every penny.

A Return to Form - Ryviews Ryport

Hi Everybody!

Back when I started this website (which was over a year ago now, and that still gives me a strange feeling), I had a very simple mantra: I would review cheap and/or free games, such as flash games, to see if they were worth your precious time. It was a noble goal, both motivated by the fact that there didn't seem to be many people reviewing games like that, or for that purpose, and I couldn't afford to review the big titles because I couldn't buy them all myself.

Since then, I've honed my methods and I've developed more advanced methods of video capture, so I'm able to show off the big ticket console games I play. That means I've been posted RyPlays, Full Playthroughs, and I've even started streaming on Twitch!

Not As Bad As They Say - Fantastic Four Ryview (Spoiler Free!)

Fantastic Four, by 20th Century Fox.

By now, you've probably heard about how absolutely atrocious this movie is (it has a 9% on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of this writing).

Reviewers have complained about plot, acting, editing, comic book movie self hate, and a whole lot of other things that generally contribute to a movie.

I'm here to tell you that it's not quite as bad as people say. If I was going to slap a ryviews label on it, I'd probably give it a slightly above passing grade.

Well, I've been busy.

DC Deckbuilding: Forever Evil - Supervillain Statistics

Hi Everybody!

DC Deckbuilding Forever Evil

If you aren't acquainted with DC Deckbuilding, please read my ryview of the base game here, and read my ryview of the expansion, Forever Evil, here.

Now that you've read up on how the game works, let's get down to the statistics for the expansion.

I had previously believe that the game was quite unbalanced. Some supervillains seem much stronger than others based on anecdotal evidence, and I wanted to prove that theory.

SDCC - My Thoughts

Hi Everybody!

The San Diego Comic-Con is now behind us, but that doesn't mean that we've forgotten about it already.

Sure, sure, most of the news is about movies, not video games, so it's not really relevant to the site, and of course, most of the news also didn't really cover comics so much as "comic related properties" so even the name "Comic-Con" is a little far fetched.

At any rate, here's what I'm excited about:

Ryviews is on vacation!

Hi Everybody!

Ryviews will be on a bit of a break for this week. I'm super busy with life and such.

Please forgive my absence, I should be back next week with my regular schedule.
