Back when I started this website (which was over a year ago now, and that still gives me a strange feeling), I had a very simple mantra: I would review cheap and/or free games, such as flash games, to see if they were worth your precious time. It was a noble goal, both motivated by the fact that there didn't seem to be many people reviewing games like that, or for that purpose, and I couldn't afford to review the big titles because I couldn't buy them all myself.
Since then, I've honed my methods and I've developed more advanced methods of video capture, so I'm able to show off the big ticket console games I play. That means I've been posted RyPlays, Full Playthroughs, and I've even started streaming on Twitch!

I have to admit that I didn't really know what I was doing when I started. It was probably already painfully obvious, but if it wasn't, there you go. And as a result, I'm honing in on what I like doing and what I'm good at doing.
Most recently, I've learned that I like doing those playthrough videos and twitch streaming because it's an authentic experience. It's raw and real, and I like that connection with the audience.
Now, that's not to say that I don't also find value in edited videos and help guides, I just like the streaming aspect quite a bit.
I also lost my way a little while ago, mostly trying to find a niche that will actually make an impact (and seeing what the audience responds to). For example, my most watched videos on Youtube are help guides for Gemcraft. That's clearly a good market for me because I have enough skill to help people AND people are looking for that help.

That being said, I do realize that I've moved pretty far away from my original mission statement. I've pretty much stopped flash games entirely, and I feel like that's not really fair.
So, from here on out, I will make an effort to ryview at least one flash game a week (varying between written and video, probably).
I will also get back into the habit of doing deal Thursdays. I've definitely fallen off that train too.
So, looking ahead, here is my planned schedule:
Monday - Ryview or Article
Tuesday - Twitch Stream
Wednesday - Twitch Stream
Thursday - Ryviews Deal Roundup
Friday - Twitch Stream
At least that's the plan...
