(Never quite sure what to put in the by line for a movie...it was directed by Tim Miller, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and I'm assuming a lot of other people worked on it too.)

Deadpool is a bizarre action comedy about a psychopath in a red jumpsuit who slices villain's heads off and tells a lot of dirty and/or hilarious jokes, sometimes directly to the audience because he frequently breaks the fourth wall.
For those of you that are unaware, Deadpool has been aware of his existence as a comic book character for quite some time in the actual comics. It's kind of his thing. And I recall hearing some rather powerful rhetoric online of worried fans worrying that this movie wouldn't satisfy that part of his character (it was a very worrisome concern). Luckily, this movie passed that particular litmus test.
This also had the hurdle to securing an R rating. Deadpool is known for his dirty mouth, dirty mind, and a whole lot of crazy violence. Pigeon holing this particular character into a PG-13 movie would have been a serious injustice to everything he stands for. Once again, the fight was won by the rightful victors and a properly violent and sexy movie was made (we do indeed see Ryan Reynold's ass as one point, SPOILERS!)

So now onto the actual movie. To say I was thoroughly entertained is a bit of an understatement. This movie was phenomenally funny, fast paced, engrossing, endearing, and downright enjoyable. I love almost every minute (I say almost because some of the dirty jokes were a bit too much for me, but I accepted them and moved on).
The plot could have possibly used a bit of punching up, but the acting, the writing, the cinematography, and really the entire package came off quite polished and impressive. There were almost no wasting lines, very few wasted seconds, it was really and truly and very well oiled machine of a movie.
Ryan Reynolds did a fantastic job in his portrayal of both Wade Wilson and Deadpool. His humanity and emotion came across well during the more human portions, and the hilarity and sheer insanity of the costumed menace also definitely worked with his style of humor and timing. It was a very good fit, and I'm very happy he was able to see this project through.
I also really liked Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (spoilers, maybe, if you haven't seen the trailers, but they've been pretty prominently featured in the promotional material, so if you finally ducked your head out of the sand before seeing to movie to read my post, I'm both very touched and very sorry for spoiling their appearances. Double edged sword, I guess). Colossus in particular was nice and eastern european, which is a big step up from his previous appearances. And he did the part well, a big lumbering teddy bear, in a way.
I was a little sad he didn't have shoulder points anymore though [2]
All in all, if you like comic books, or if you like raunchy comedy, or if you like to see a lot of fun, over the top violence, this movie is definitely for you. If you hate all of those things and want them to burn in hell, then you should still see the movie, just wear some sensory deprivation goggles and earmuff and enjoy your popcorn in peace while supporting an awesome movie.
Seriously, go see it, and spend the best 108 minutes of your life (okay that's a bit of a stretch, but it is still a better way to spend 108 minutes than shotgunning almost 2 episodes of LOST).
